A vegetation fire in Santa Clara County south of San Jose grew to about 25 acres within an hour of erupting Saturday.
Named the Malech Fire by Cal Fire, the blaze was reported at about 11:45 a.m. in the 9500 block of Malech Road, according to the San Jose Fire Department, which responded along with Cal Fire crews and firefighters from the Morgan Hill and Santa Clara County fire departments.
