NYPD vehicle hits man lying in Bronx street after another car ran him over, police say

An NYPD vehicle hit a man who was lying on a Bronx street early Saturday morning, moments after another car ran him over, a department spokesperson said.

The man died, and police are not sharing his name until they contact his family.

Police said the man got into a fight with another man shortly before 4 a.m. on Saturday, then was seen lying unconscious and unresponsive on College Avenue. About 10 minutes later, a white BMW SUV struck him and fled the scene, according to the department spokesperson.
