Free concert in Brewster
BREWSTER – Chris McBurney and Betsy Harrison will perform a free concert from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 12 at the Bimeler Park pavilion, 105 N. Wabash Ave. Don Polo Mexican Food truck will be on-site. In case of bad weather, the concert will move to the Brewster Moose Club, 149 S. Walbash Ave.
Free concert in Canal Fulton
CANAL FULTON – The David Hern Band will perform at 7 p.m. Aug. 14 at St. Helena Heritage Park, 123 Tuscarawas St. NW, as part of the Echoes of Summer: Canal Fulton Summer Concert Series. Admission is free.
Pregnancy & Parenting Center opening second location
CANTON – The Pregnancy and Parenting Center is offering free parenting classes and baby boutique from a second Canton location at 2645 Cleveland Ave. NW thanks to a newly renovated addition in part of the building. A dedication ceremony opening the new location will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 17.
Classes cover a wide range of topics for expectant parents and parents of young children. Classes, which will be on Friday afternoons, include childbirth, mom’s group, dad’s group, and parenting. CANTON – The National First Ladies Library and Museum will present the virtual program “Talk with a Curator” from 7 to 8 p.m. Aug. 12. Go behind the scenes with the museum team and explore the stories behind the collection.
The museum’s Third Thursday program will be “Pride, Pageantry & the People’s Fair” from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Aug. 20. Take an after-hours tour of the Saxton-McKinley House, 331 Market Ave. S. The event includes a wine and cheese reception.
Kids’ Art Mart event Aug. 15
CANTON – The second annual Kids’ Art Mart, a youth maker market presented by EN-RICH-MENT and ArtsinStark, will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 15 at ArtsinStark Park, 1001 Market Ave. N, on the Cultural Center Campus. Artists and makers in grades 5-12 will sell original artwork, jewelry, pottery, textiles, prints, accessories and home décor.
Music festival in downtown Canton
CANTON ‒ The All Love Music Festival will be at Centennial Plaza, 330 Court Ave. NW, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Aug. 15. Admission is free. Various bands and musicians will gather for a “Battle of the Bands” to celebrate local musicians from Northeast Ohio, Northwest Pennsylvania and surrounding areas. Food trucks and other vendors will be on-site.
Saxophone quartet to perform
CANTON TWP. – As part of the free, family-friendly Summer Serenades series, a Canton Symphony Orchestra saxophone quartet will perform from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 12 at Faircrest Park, 1001 Faircrest St. SW.
