21,000-sq.-ft. medical building proposed for southeast Ocala site

A new 21,000-square-foot medical office building that would offer chemotherapy treatment, counseling, and specialized healthcare services is being proposed for a 4.26-acre parcel in southeast Ocala.

The plans for the new building will be presented to the Ocala Planning and Zoning Commission during its regular meeting on Monday, August 10.

Located at 325 SE 24th Street, the property is currently owned by New Ocala MOB, LLC. The developer, who is being represented by local attorney Fred N. Roberts Jr., is requesting to rezone the site from the now-defunct Office Planned Unit Development (PUD-RO) district to a new Planned Development (PD) district, while also seeking approval for an associated master plan and standards book.

The existing zoning district was originally approved in 2005 and is no longer an active designation within the city’s land development regulations, requiring an update to allow new construction on the site…
