Williamson County interstate closures planned through end of 2026

Starting Sunday, Aug. 9, through the end of 2026, the Tennessee Department of Transportation will conduct nightly closures on Interstate 840 and Interstate 65 in Williamson County. The regular shutdowns make way for construction crews to begin much-needed maintenance and resurfacing work on the roads.

The work is part of a comprehensive three-year, statewide paving program to improve Tennessee’s roads. Funding comes from $400 million in one-time, nonrecurring funds that Tennessee legislators designated for TDOT in the fiscal year 2027 budget.

Unfortunately, the timeline for construction to begin lined up with the start of the Williamson County Fair, which opened on Aug. 7 and will run through Aug. 15…
