SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Skateboarders took over Clinton Square Sunday as Syracuse hosted its first downtown skateboarding event, bringing together skating, art and local vendors while raising money for a new community-driven skate space on the city’s Southside.
The Erie Canal Skate Jam transformed the area around the Erie Canal fountain into a temporary skatepark. The free, all-ages event featured skate sessions, a best trick competition, games and more than 30 artists, along with art, craft, vintage and skate-related vendors.
