Christian County youth to benefit from this weekend’s Lone Star Rodeo

HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Christian County Cattlemen’s Association is bringing back the Lone Star Rodeo to Hopkinsville, with proceeds helping raise money for scholarships for local youth. In 2026, the organization funded 14 scholarships for higher education to local students with the purpose of forwarding interest in both agriculture and the farming industry.

On Aug. 14-15 at 7:30 p.m., people will find classic rodeo events at the Western Kentucky Fairgrounds. Professional and local cowboys and cowgirls will participate in bronc riding, calf roping, steer wrestling, chuckwagon racing, breakaway roping, barrel racing and bull riding.

Specialty acts include Cowgirl Lindsey Gunslinger, who is a whip cracker and trick roper, along with Barrelman and Rodeo Clown Mighty Mike Wentworth. At the end of the show Friday night, Josh Weathers will perform with Clark Kissick opening…
