Christian County Summer Feeding Program Serves Thousands More Meals Than Last Year

Christian County Public Schools served thousands more meals to children this summer than it did a year ago, which highlights both the success of the district’s summer feeding program and the growing need for food assistance across the county.

During last week’s Christian County Board of Education meeting, Director of Food Services Rosa Robinson reported the district provided nearly 91,000 meals during June and July, an increase of about 14,000 meals over last summer.

In June, the district operated 10 breakfast sites that served 24,222 breakfasts and 11 lunch sites that provided 24,348 lunches. Those totals represented a dramatic increase from June 2025, when the district served 12,944 breakfasts and 14,048 lunches…
