A San Antonio restaurant has come to a halt following a sudden lockout by property management over alleged unpaid rent, and customers would have no idea unless they visited the business in person.
Gold Feather Birds & Beers has operated at Park North Shopping Center since 2026, but according to a lockout notice posted on the restaurant’s front door, operations came to a halt on August 8, the date listed on the notice. Since then, Gold Feather has been down for the count, yet its social media and website say nothing of the sort. You can even browse the restaurant’s online ordering system despite the lockout.
The lockout notice was issued by the current owner of Park North Shopping Center, Dhanani Private Equity Group (DPEG), a Houston-based firm that claims Gold Feather owes $27,363.23 in unpaid rent. MySA has reached out to DPEG for comment, but the firm did not respond before publication.
In the notice, DPEG is asking Gold Feather to pay the outstanding rent balance or risk escalation of the situation, which could include eviction proceedings. This isn’t the first time since DPEG took over the shopping center that a restaurant has been locked out in this way. Similar events occurred with former tenants Miguelito’s Mexican Grill & Cantina and Ooh La La Korean BBQ, both of which were locked out earlier this year…
