Belgian biotech company picks San Antonio for first U.S. operation

A Belgian biotechnology company has chosen San Antonio as the headquarters for its first U.S.-based operation.

Valedyn Inc. was established by Verlaine, Belgium-based Ynios Pharma as its U.S. subsidiary to develop “transformational” therapies designed to stabilize the body during severe trauma and critical illness, with potential applications in both military and civilian healthcare.

“We are working on one of the hardest problems in medicine: how to prevent the body from spiraling into irreversible physiological collapse after severe injury,” Valedyn co-founder Jean François Plucker said. “San Antonio combines military medical leadership, trauma expertise and a deeply collaborative culture in a way we did not encounter elsewhere.”…
