LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – The father of 21-year-old Angel Tywan Lucas Lindsey said he is heartbroken after the death of both his son and Las Vegas Metro Police officer Austin Abdelnabi during an officer-involved shooting on Aug. 4.
According to police, Abdelnabi, 30, was killed while responding to a report of a person with a gun acting erratically and waving a firearm in the air at a business in the 4500 block of East Tropicana Avenue near I-11 and Mountain Vista Street. Police later identified Lucas Lindsey as the gunman.

His father, Anthony Lucas, is currently living in California. He said he learned the news from Lucas Lindsey’s aunt, who he was living with at the time in Las Vegas.
“I got a call from his aunt, and she broke down the news to me. And when she told me what happened, I broke down to my knees. I couldn’t believe what I heard,” Lucas said. “And I didn’t know things would even escalate that far. Yeah, that night just broke my heart. And ever since then, I’ve been reeling. Like, I don’t know what to do right now.”…
