Charlie Sikes was just 12 when she and a small family cohort created their first mural at the annual Chalk the Harbor event in downtown Gig Harbor. At the time, it was just Sikes’ immediate family, plus her artist uncle, her aunt, and two cousins.
Sikes’ grandmother joined the second year and brought a camera to document the mural get-together.
Little did they know they had started a tradition…
