ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Roughly 85,000 Pinellas County students are heading back to class Tuesday as the district begins a new school year with changes aimed at improving transportation and new restrictions on technology in schools.
The district shifted start times at four of its larger schools this year in an effort to streamline transportation. This year, there are 309 bus routes across Pinellas County with more than 20,000 students on those buses.
