City council discusses rezoning 15.5 acres in Springfield’s West Central neighborhood for new housing development

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – The city of Springfield is looking to pave the way for more housing. On Monday night, the city council held a public hearing to rezone 15.5 acres of land near South Kansas Avenue.

“We’re planning on doing a mix of townhomes and apartment buildings,” said project manager Brandon Smith.
