NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — A key witness took the stand Tuesday in the murder trial of Levi Richardson III, describing the tense moments before the fatal 2021 shooting of 21-year-old Jonathan Smith at a North Charleston apartment complex.
The witness, who owned the white Ford Ranger that investigators say was seen fleeing the scene on Dec. 11, 2021, testified that he was sitting in the truck with Smith when Richardson approached and drew a firearm.
