Winds of 80 mph reported, thousands lose power following latest round of severe weather

OHIO — Damage has been reported and over 100,000 people are without power following the latest round of severe weather to hit the state Tuesday.

A wind gust of 82 mph was reported at John Glenn International Airport as a complex of storms moved through central Ohio, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington. Tuesday morning’s storms were just the latest round to affect the state since Sunday night; additional severe weather is possible again later today.

In Champaign, the National Weather Service said it has received reports of tree damage near the village of Mutual in Champaign County. Officials from the National Weather Service said it cannot confirm if Tuesday’s damage was caused by a tornado or thunderstorm winds…
