Jersey City police officers will not face charges following the deadly officer involved shooting, authorities announced Tuesday, Aug. 11.
A stand grand jury declined to file charges responsible for the death of Teshawn Rogers, which occurred last October, the Attorney General’s Office said.
Shortly after 1 a.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 21, members of the Jersey City Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit, which consists of plainclothes officers operating unmarked vehicles, encountered Rogers in the area of Bergen and Virginia avenues as he walked northbound on Bergen Avenue, authorities said.
