Fayette schools employee files lawsuit alleging she was fired for being white

A Fayette County Public Schools employee said her contract with the district wasn’t renewed because she is white, according to a lawsuit filed Tuesday against Superintendent Demetrus Liggins and the school district.

“Plaintiff, from Defendants’ actions, was discriminated against for no reason other than the color of her skin,” the lawsuit filed by Cassandra Tocash said.

Liggins is currently on paid leave while his employment is under review…
