A rabid bat was found inside a Lexington home last week, according to the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department.
The bat was found inside the kitchen of the home, located in the 40502 zip code near Pepperhill Road and Chinoe Road. The health department said no people or pets were exposed to the bat, and informational placards were posted in the area.
