ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — On Wednesday, August 12, residents of Western New York may see a sliver of the moon covering the sun.
A partial solar eclipse will be visible in the skies of the northeastern U.S. in the afternoon.
Rochester residents certainly remember the 2024 total solar eclipse that passed over the city. While Wednesday’s eclipse will be a total solar eclipse for areas of Greenland, Iceland, and Spain… here, the sun will only be 9.28% covered at its peak.
The partial solar eclipse begins in Rochester at 12:58pm, peaks at 1:44pm, and concludes at 2:29pm.
Weather conditions should permit a view of the eclipse, with only minor cloud cover in the afternoon…
