Eden Prairie man charged with attempted second-degree murder

An Eden Prairie man has been charged with attempted second-degree murder after police say they found him on top of a severely injured woman inside an Eden Prairie home early Sunday.

Maxwell Ryan Frederick, 27, was charged Monday in Hennepin County District Court with attempted second-degree murder and third-degree assault, both felonies. Bail was set Tuesday at $500,000 with conditions or $1 million without conditions.

According to the criminal complaint, Eden Prairie police responded about 1:36 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, to an open-line 911 call suggesting an assault was underway…
