Minneapolis beachgoers have had to find alternative places to cool off this week as several sandy shorelines remain closed across the City of Lakes due to water safety concerns.
As of Tuesday morning, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board’s lake water quality map shows six beaches closed for swimming throughout the city due to the presence of blue-green algae blooms and E.coli bacteria.
Beaches closed due to algae:
- Point Beach at Cedar Lake
- East Beach at Cedar Lake
- South Beach at Cedar Lake
