WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The WSU Tech Foundation announced a $1 million gift on Tuesday from the Gene Haas Foundation to expand the National Center for Aviation Training.
The money will support construction of a new 85,500-square-foot facility that will allow WSU Tech, formally the Wichita State University Campus of Applied Sciences and Technology, to train an additional 1,450 students each school year in aviation and advanced manufacturing.
To recognize the contribution, a new youth-focused STEM space inside the facility will be named the Gene Haas Ideation and Exploration Hub.
