1 arrested after reportedly ramming police cruiser, running on foot in Southeast DC

WASHINGTON (7News) — One person was arrested after a police car chase that ended in a crash and led to a pursuit on foot in Southeast DC, according to officials.

According to United States Park Police, officers first tried to stop the driver for piloting a vehicle they confirmed was stolen, but instead of stopping, police said a chase ensued.

“During the short pursuit, the driver intentionally rammed a USPP cruiser head-on at Elvans Road and Gainesville Street SE, disabling both vehicles,” USPP said. “The driver fled on foot and attempted to discard a backpack but was apprehended.”…
