A former swimmer at an Orange County university is facing a murder charge after authorities say he brutally beat a 63-year-old security guard to death at a condominium complex on Maui last week.
The deadly encounter occurred during the early morning hours of Aug. 5 at the Sands of Kahana, a condominium resort on the coast of West Maui.
