A four-alarm blaze tore through the Dunrovin Country Store and Deli on U.S. 1 in Vass on Saturday evening, Aug. 8. According to ABC11, the back of the structure sustained heavy damage. Flames erupted around 6:30 p.m., and firefighters battled for six hours to bring it under control.
First responders arrived to thick smoke billowing from the structure. The response escalated to four alarms as crews from across Moore County and neighboring communities rushed to help. All fire units left the scene just before 1 a.m.
The business owner said the store had closed for the day. No one was inside when the blaze ignited. The cause remains under investigation…
