CARTA, Town of Lookout Mountain reach new agreement over historic Incline Railway

CHATTANOOGA — The Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority and the Town of Lookout Mountain, Tennessee, have reached an agreement resolving months of discussions over the historic Incline Railway.

This comes after the town proposed heavy restrictions on passengers and fees for Incline riders.

Under the agreement, CARTA says, they will provide the town with a passenger-based public safety fee to support fire, police, dispatch and emergency services associated with Incline operations while also accepting limits on operating hours and daily passenger numbers…
