MANLIUS, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Route 290 in Manlius closed for over an hour on Wednesday after a truck collided with a trailer towing a shed, sparking a multi-vehicle crash.
Police were sent out around 12:14 p.m. to a crash involving four cars on Route 290 (Green Lakes Road), near Kinderhook Road, according to a statement from the Manlius Police Department.
After investigating, officers found that 79-year-old Floyd Smith, of Canastota, crossed over a double solid line while driving eastbound in his red Ford F150 when he hit a trailer towing a shed going westbound.
Debris from the shed hit a third car following behind the trailer westbound, police said. Smith, in his Ford, continued to drive in the wrong lane and ultimately sideswiped a fourth car…
