How a routine DoorDash drop-off turned into a cross-city mystery.

Sometimes you see a whole lot of things that don’t make sense when you are out delivering food in Amarillo. Sometimes it is the construction situation in Amarillo. Sometimes it is the mess of delivery instructions or the lack of them that the customer gives you.

The Head-Scratching Realities of Amarillo Delivery

All I know is sometimes you get a delivery, and it leaves you scratching your head. Over the weekend, that is exactly what I felt like doing. I still don’t know how this happened.

I received a double delivery. I had to pick up from Five Guys and Firehouse and deliver to two different customers. Ok, no big deal. The food was ready at both pickup places with no wait, so that was nice.

A Routine Double Order With a Strange Twist

It was the drop-off that was weird. I didn’t have to travel far, which was another win. The first delivery took me no time, and I had a happy customer eating food. The second drop-off was strange.

Dropping Off Food at a Closed Office on North Western

I had to drop off at a business on Western Street. When I got there, the office was closed. That is not too strange because sometimes there are employees working on the weekend. They need food too.

I was the only car in the parking lot, but maybe there was parking in the back for employees. This still could be a hungry employee. So I dropped off the food. I was hoping there was someone there waiting on a burger and fries from Five Guys…
