[1] APD: 1 dead after police shooting at apartment complex near Coors Bypass – A man is dead after an hours-long standoff with Albuquerque Police. Tuesday, officers responded to an apartment on Cibola Loop several times, with a man saying homeless people were trying to get into his home and someone was tampering with his locks. APD said they didn’t find anything suspicious when they arrived, but they did send a referral to the Crisis Intervention Unit. Later, police received a call that shots were fired in the neighborhood. That prompted an hours-long standoff. Police believe the suspect fired at least 70 rounds.
[2] Former NM lawmaker doesn’t take stand in corruption trial as accused co-conspirator testifies – The former state representative and Albuquerque Public Schools Administration accused of intentionally funneling more than a million taxpayer dollars into her own pocket told the judge she did not wish to take the stand during her trial. Her accused co-conspirator, Joseph Johnson, whose defense claims he is the true victim, testified in front of the jury. He claimed blank checks meant for his learning company were mailed to Stapleton without his approval.
[3] Spotty showers and cooler temperatures expected for parts of New Mexico – Hardly any rain is present, with a few spotty showers and possible lightning strikes in a few mountainous areas of the western region, especially. Some occasional passing high-level clouds and some low-level clouds are present elsewhere, with some wildfire smoke haze, especially in northern areas. Some leftover breezy outflow winds are somewhat keeping some of the low-level moisture in place with occasional gusts of westerly winds in some western areas, while south-southeasterly winds are a bit breezy in eastern areas…
