SANDY, Utah (ABC4) — A former Utah bookkeeper has admitted to stealing over $1.3 million from a local business by writing herself unauthorized payments for seven years.
Jeana Holt Leon pleaded guilty to stealing $1,306,500.58 from HD Acoustics, where she was employed as a bookkeeper. According to the Office of the Utah Attorney General, Leon also admitted to evading $76,998 in state income tax by hiding the stolen funds.

According to court documents, on June 1, 2022, the Sandy Police Department received a complaint from Layne Taylor Denton alleging that his former employee, Jeana Leon, was stealing money from his company, HD Acoustics.
