CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Mexican man with ties to the Sinaloa Cartel has been sentenced to prison for trafficking over 133,000 counterfeit pills containing fentanyl into the U.S.
According to court documents and proceedings, a DEA confidential source (CS) was introduced to a man nicknamed “El Moro,” who was later identified as 24-year-old Omar Antonio Jaramillo-Meza. During the investigation, the CS used a messaging app to arrange multiple drug buys from Jaramillo-Meza.
In April 2022, law enforcement seized 3,000 pills that Jaramillo-Meza had sent to the CS. The pills were marked with “M-30,” a marking used on prescription oxycodone pills, but an analysis by the DEA lab found that the pills contained fentanyl…
