East Lubbock County mom finally receives keys to new home after decades of poor conditions

LUBBOCK, Texas — Back in May, EverythingLubbock.com brought you an exclusive story about East Lubbock Mom, Jean Wallace, who was living in terrible conditions for decades.

Right when she was going to sell everything and give up, her pastor and son stepped up to the plate, making it a must to move Jean to a new home. The two then started their project to remodel and renovate a family trailer that’s been passed down for generations.

The trailer home is finished after four months of hard work for Pastor Daniel Perez and George Hartfield, and Wallace moved in on her birthday, August 1, having a celebration in honor of her new home.

“When my pastor stepped up to show me that he loved me, then he really opened a door, you know, but I know God had something for me,” she said, and that she is still getting used to the home because she lived in her previous one for so long.
