ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – It was a tense evening in a usually calm northwest Albuquerque neighborhood Monday after a man showed up taking pictures of people’s houses, while carrying what deputies described as an assault rifle-style weapon. “He was taking pictures of homes; we really didn’t know his intentions, and so we just started telling each other and our neighbors to be careful and watch what was going on,” said one neighbor who wished to remain anonymous.
According to a criminal complaint, that man was later caught on cameras, saying violent obscenities outside of the home of an Albuquerque Police Department officer and Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office employee, threatening to “take out” whoever was in the house. BCSO said that was 60-year-old Kenneth Bair, who was arrested Tuesday night.
The anonymous neighbor said it’s a shock to the normally quiet community. “People love living here. You see people walking all over the place, alone, early in the morning, in the evenings, with their pets, with their children.” When we asked if anyone in the neighborhood was scared to walk, they said, “‘Well, I know some of my family were.’”…
