STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Have yet to use a mandated trash bin in New York City? You may have gotten a warning this summer.
New York City homeowners have been required to use an NYC Bin for trash collection since June 1, though no penalties have been given out just yet. The New York City Department of Sanitation has been issuing warnings this summer, and will do so through Labor Day on Sept. 7 to allow more homeowners to buy the once hard-to-find bin.
