A bat in Lucas County that tested positive for rabies is prompting the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department to remind the public to be cautious around unfamiliar animals and to vaccinate pets against rabies.
It is the first confirmed rabies-positive bat in the county in 2026, officials said Thursday.
