PORTLAND, OR – Portland drivers will have fewer places to make a right turn at a red light, under a pilot program just passed by the city council. It’s an effort to reduce fatal crashes with the focus on areas near public transit, schools, and high pedestrian traffic.
Portland’s Bureau of Transportation will lead the charge, installing “no-turn-on-red” signs in more intersections of its “High Crash Network”, mostly east of the Willamette.
