Community honors Salem Carpenter with cross after deadly crash

GROVETOWN, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A cross was created and placed to honor the life of 14-year-old Salem Carpenter, who died after being struck by a car.

Carpenter had gone missing before he was hit by a car Monday morning. The driver is not facing charges.

Carpenter was also reported missing in Lincoln County in May, but was found two days later.

The cross is located at Canterberry Farms Public Park in Grovetown…
