SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Garbage disposal delays in Shreveport are being caused by severe driver shortages and extreme heat, according to Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux.
The primary cause of the service disruptions is a shortage of drivers with Commercial Driver’s Licenses (CDL) and at least one year of experience.
Municipal insurance requirements prohibit Shreveport from insuring any CDL drivers who fail to meet the one-year experience threshold.
