WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The nonprofit Downtown Wichita released a new long‑range action plan Thursday outlining how the city’s core could grow through 2035, focusing on walkability, housing, riverfront development and stronger public spaces.
The Downtown Wichita Action Plan 2035 is designed to guide the next decade of investment across a 1.5‑square‑mile area stretching from Seneca Street to Washington Avenue and from Murdock Avenue to Kellogg Avenue.
It was developed through a 10‑month process that included more than 1,000 participants, three open houses, multiple pop‑up events and more than 50 stakeholder meetings.
