BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – A Birmingham apartment complex is asking the city for help after a large homeless encampment established itself along its property line, leading to reported property damage and safety concerns for residents.
Stone Ridge Apartments, located on Palisades Boulevard, borders a property owned by a religious organization. The encampment sits on that neighboring property, directly along the shared fence line.
David Woods, a maintenance worker at Stone Ridge, said staff regularly encounters issues tied to the encampment.
“We hate it that they’re homeless and they don’t have anywhere to go, but our main priority is making sure our tenants are protected, and their property is protected,” Woods said…
