Summerville woman sentenced to nearly 4 years after buying 11 guns from son

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — A 50-year-old Summerville woman was sentenced to nearly four years in federal prison after admitting she illegally purchased firearms for her felon son, according to court records.

Sheree Michelle Alexander was sentenced to 46 months in prison after pleading guilty to making a false statement on a firearm purchase form. U.S. District Judge Bruce H. Hendricks also ordered Alexander to serve two years of supervised release following her prison term.

Federal prosecutors said Alexander purchased at least 11 firearms for her son, Jaidan Latrell Alexander, between January 2020 and September 2023. Jaidan Alexander, 26, of Ladson, had a prior felony conviction and was prohibited from purchasing or possessing firearms…
