(KRON) — A man was arrested Wednesday in connection to a series of burglaries in Lafayette earlier this week. The Lafayette Police Department identified the suspect and sent detectives to a home on Alhambra Way in Martinez to serve a warrant.
The suspect saw the police and took off, according to Lafayette PD. A search was launched for the suspect with the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office, Walnut Creek PD, Martinez PD and East Bay Regional Park Police assisting Lafayette PD. The suspect was not located, but property stolen in the burglaries was found in the house.

On Wednesday, Lafayette PD and the Sheriff’s Office special enforcement unit took the suspect into custody in Walnut Creek. He was driving a stolen vehicle at the time, police said.
The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Kohlton Kumnick of Martinez, was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on burglary, vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, felon in possession of a firearm, grand theft, identity theft, resisting arrest, and narcotics charge.
Police say he is being held on $220,000 bail. The investigation is ongoing…
