H Mart’s Orlando food hall is about to get a lot bigger. The Asian supermarket giant has finished construction on a Phase 2 expansion of its food hall at 7501 W. Colonial Drive, adding six new vendors that will open to the public on August 21 at 10:30 a.m.
The new lineup includes bb.q Chicken, Sorimmara, Curry 88, Seoul Hotteok, Mari Mari, and Dduk Dabang, according to the West Orange Times & Observer. Starting August 21, the food hall stalls will run from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, with the outlet reporting that final orders will be taken 30 minutes before closing, at 8:30 p.m. H Mart will host a grand opening for the expansion that same morning at the West Colonial Drive location.
Among the new additions, bb.q Chicken carries the most name recognition. The South Korean fried chicken franchise was founded in 1995 and now operates more than 3,500 locations across over 30 countries, according to Nation’s Restaurant News. The chain’s name stands for “Best of the Best Quality,” and it specializes in olive-oil double-fried chicken.
New Flavors Join the Food Hall Lineup
Sorimmara brings K-Malatang to the food hall — a customizable, Sichuan-influenced spicy soup and stir-fry concept. The franchise operates roughly 200 locations in Korea alongside a growing number of U.S. outposts, per Mouth by Southwest.
