A restaurant serving pho and seafood boils is coming to Overland Park

Get your hand wipes ready: a Johnson County resident is bringing Viet-Cajun boils to Overland Park, along with some Vietnamese cuisine staples.

As the name suggests, Pho & Boil will serve both the Vietnamese hot noodle soup and bags of crawfish boil, owner Ken Pham said. The restaurant is taking over the former Smoke Town BBQ space — which closed earlier this summer — at 7702 Shawnee Mission Parkway and has plans to open in September.

Pham said both cuisines have been important to his family for decades. He operated a crawfish restaurant in the Dallas-Fort Worth area before moving to Kansas two years ago, and his family ran a phở restaurant for years. He also has relatives in New Orleans, both known for its crawfish boils and excellent Vietnamese food scene…
