Dallas County Health and Human Services is investigating a possible tuberculosis exposure at MacArthur High School in Irving that occurred during the 2025-26 school year, according to the agency and Irving ISD.
Officials are strongly recommending that all returning 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students get tested for tuberculosis if they have not already done so. Incoming freshmen do not need testing, the district said.
The exact timing and location of the potential exposure on campus last school year remain unclear. Dallas County Health and Human Services stated that the risk to the general public remains low. The recommendation focuses on latent, or inactive, tuberculosis, which produces no visible symptoms but can later progress if untreated.
