Conroe moves forward with plan to put guardrails on data center development

The Conroe City Council took steps Thursday to place guardrails on potential data center development by amending an ordinance to include more than 30 specific requirements for the permitting process.

The city will host a public hearing at a future meeting to allow residents to weigh in on the new requirements before the council considers adopting them. A date for that meeting has not been set.
