The man who police said bought equipment to illegally help his 91-year-old mother-in-law die by suicide in February 2024 was sentenced Friday to two years of probation and was ordered to donate to a medical aid-in-dying charity.
David Norton, 68, pleaded guilty Friday morning to one count of manslaughter by aiding suicide and one count of tampering with physical evidence as part of a plea deal with the Boulder County District Attorney’s Office.
Boulder County District Court Judge Dea M. Lindsey sentenced Norton to two years of probation alongside a two-year deferred sentence and 80 hours of community service during the sentencing hearing. The plea deal also stipulated that he donate $25,000 to a medical aid-in-dying charity…
