Kalamazoo Twp. considering study on becoming own city to avoid annexations

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Kalamazoo Township is reviewing the possibility of launching a feasibility study for city incorporation as one option to protect some parts of the township from being annexed by neighbors.

Supervisor David Combs said during Monday night’s meeting that some commission members in Kalamazoo and Parchment have expressed interest in annexing parts of the township. The Parchment City manager told News 8 that commissioners have not had a discussion on this and there is no timeline for one.
