22-year-old arrested, accused in human trafficking investigation, NOPD says

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Through a multi-agency investigation, a 22-year-old man was arrested on allegations of human trafficking, the New Orleans Police Department announced Friday.

The NOPD Special Victims Division, with the help from the NOPD VOWS, United States Marshals Service and Homeland Security Investigations, arrested Marcus Davis in connection with several investigations the agency was working on.

Davis was arrested for additional offenses related to an active human trafficking investigation, officers said.

He was booked on the following:

  • Relative to human sex trafficking
  • Relative to third-degree rape
  • Relative to second-degree kidnapping
  • Three (3) counts of relative to domestic abuse battery – child endangerment
  • Relative to domestic abuse battery involving strangulation
  • Two (2) counts of relative to domestic abuse battery
  • Relative to possession of stolen firearms
